Subscribing to READ

The Regional Economies Assessment Database or READ web site is available to subscribers only. Subscribers include community development and resource planners, area and regional economic development specialists, business persons, researchers, journalists, university faculty, educators and others who need to regularly assess economic conditions and trends in their area as well as regional trends across the entire western United States. READ provides access to a large array of economic and population information, carefully organized into a large array of tables, complemented with maps and graphical analyses to facilitate the assessment of area and sub-state regional economies in the West. Along with personal access to the full READ web site, subscribers receive a copy of the READ User's Guidebook describing READ, the data contained in it, and the methods used in characterizing and assessing area economies.

Subscription rates for READ are on a "per user" basis and are applied to each individual within an organization or business wishing to have personal access to the system. Rates vary depending upon the type of subscriber (private or public/non-profit) and the anticipated frequency of READ usage (frequent use is three or more times a week or almost daily). Subscription rates also reflect whether users plan to use information and analysis from READ for commercial purposes, such as in contract research, consulting, or in any other production of informa-tion and analysis for others in which a fee is charged.

Regular subscription rates are for 12 months access to READ but you can also subscribe for 6 months access at rates that are 60 percent of these regular annual rates.
